Food Safety Audits

W.P. Griffin was proud to recieve TWO Third Party Food Safety Certifications this year. The Guelph Food Technology Center performed an audit for our annual Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Certificate. QMI (through the Canadian Horticultural Council) performed our first audit for the CANADA GAP certification. During the audits, the Packaging and the Farm divisions were rated, and both areas received excellent results. A big thank-you to all our staff and personnel who continually work hard on this program.
New Partners, New Varieties, New Opportunities

On March 9th, 2010 W.P. Griffin invited local growers from around Prince Edward Island to participate in a social and informational event to introduce new opportunities to growers, new partnership possibilities and new and upcoming varieties. It proved to be an excellent venue for growers to reconnect with one another and share industry news and opinions. The evening included guest speakers, an array of various new varieties being developed and special gourmet potato recipes prepared by Chef Rose of the Loyalist.
