Ingredients

Ingredient Amount
3 cups / 750 ml flour
2 tbsp / 30 ml baking power
1 1/2 tsp / 7.5 ml salt
4 tbsp / 60 ml shortening
1 cup / 250 ml mashed potatoes (cold)
1 1/4 cup / 313 ml canned milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Combine flour, baking power and salt. Cut in shortening. Add potato and mix thoroughly. Add enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll light to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Brush tops with milk if desired. Bake 12-15 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 12 biscuits.
