Potato Bannock



Ingredient Amount
2 1/2 cups / 625 ml Flour
2 tbsp / 15 ml Baking Powder
3 tbsp / 45 ml Sugar
1 tsp / 5 ml Salt
1/4 cup / 50 ml Shortening
1 cup / 250 ml Milk
1 cup / 250 ml Potatoes, mashed
1 tbsp / 15 ml Milk or Cream


Preheat oven to 375. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and cut in shortening. In another bowl take your mashed potatoes add milk and puree with hand held blender. Then add to dry ingredients and mix transfer to floured surface and knead gently 8-10 times adding flour if needed. Shape into a circle cut surface in triangular cut and brush with milk or cream. Bake on cookie sheet 20-30 mins until golden brown.
