IWK, Janeway & Chudumont Foundations – Dig In Do Good

For the past three years, W.P. Griffin Inc. has been part of a very successful Dig In Do Good campaign.  This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the presentation of the cheque to the IWK was unable to take place in person.   For every 10 lb bag of Dig In Do Good potatoes sold in the Atlantic  Canadian Provinces, 35 cents went directly to support the IWK Health Centre, Janeway Hospital and Chudumont Foundation.  This year, the IWK received a cheque for $18,579 for this campaign that ran in February and March 2020.  To-date in total for the past three years, the IWK has received $101,311 from this campaign for our children’s hospitals in Atlantic Canada.

Toonies for Tummies - Dig in Do Good

In it's second year in a row, W.P. Griffin Inc. donated $18,900 to The Grocery Foundation for school breakfast programs in Ontario.  For every 10 pound bag of Dig In Do Good potatoes sold, 25 cents went towards this program during the months of December 2019 and January 2020 to this worthy cause.  To-date in total for the last two years, W.P. Griffin donated $38,900 to The Grocery Foundation.

A $50,000 cheque was presented to the Grocery Foundation of Atlantic Canada on behalf of Sobeys and W.P. Griffin Inc. Pictured in the photo from Left to Right - Pam MacMillan, Albert Clements, Kevin Connors, Dave Sobey, John Griffin, Steve Chiasson, Tom Margeson The Second Annual Dig In Do Good Campaign was held in the Atlantic Canadian Provinces in February & March of 2019. For every 10 lb bag of Dig In Do Good bags sold, 25 cents went directly to support our Atlantic Canadian Children's Hospitals through the Grocery Foundation of Atlantic Canada. The success of the project is also due in part to the support of the PEI Bag Co, who produced the limited-edition bags, and to Fresh Media who marketed the promotion with a Dig In Do Good website, a Facebook Campaign, and also a YouTube Video Commercial. To date this very successful partnership has raised a total of $50,000 and a grand total $82,732 the Grocery Foundation of Atlantic Canada to go towards the Atlantic Children's Hospitals.
