When you hear the name "Bud the Spud" everyone in Canada and much of North America, know that you are talking about Prince Edward Island potatoes. Our mascot’s endearing name and the various depicted characterizations over the years, have become a much loved and accepted part of the Prince Edward Island culture. You can see Bud at local PEI parades or as a special visitor at fairs and festivals!

'It’s Bud the Spud from the bright red mud . . .' Stompin' Tom Connors would sing about PEI pride in our famous potatoes that have been grown and shipped world-wide since the 1790’s.
