Baked Potato Soup - <font color=D61602>Grand Prize Winner 2012</font>

1 tsp.Salt1 tsp
4Large baking potatoes4
1 1/4 cupsShredded cheddar cheese310 mL
7 cupsMilk1750 mL
1 cupSour cream250 mL
2/3 cupButter150 mL
2/3 cupFlour150 mL
6Green onions6
12 stripsBacon12 strips
1/2 tsp.Freshly ground black pepper2 mL




Directions
Bake, peel and cube potatoes. Slice onions. Cook, drain and crumble bacon. Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in flour. Heat and stir until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add potatoes and onions. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, stir until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
